I care greatly about the future of our world and our nation, in that order. The out come of this years election (selection? Remember Florida, then Ohio, then remember the Alamo!) will determine a lot about the future of both. I am non partisan, belonging to no “party.” Last week I watched the Democratic extravaganza in Denver. Now it is the Republicans turn… [Read more…]
Wow, I had a great summer. Most of it with my son. I wonder if he’ll become an SEO Expert too? We went camping in Wyoming in July. And we made it to the Dreamtime Festival weekend in Paonia. That was a lot of fun. Then we went to Water World in Denver. Boy do they need help with their Website and SEO, for sure. Now summer is winding down and I’ve got my keyboard tippity tapping away again.
Enjoy the rest of yours!

This year I returned, as I said I would in last years review, to the SMX Advanced Conference in Seattle.
Getting to Denver was a nightmare. I missed my flight (not by my tardiness) but South West Air helped me catch the next one.
I got into Seattle about 7:30 pm. Rented a Hummer for $31/day and drove to my hotel. OI missed the MSN reception party by 15 minutes so I went back to room and did some work… till 2 am (stupid me!).
These are the sessions I attended:
Day One SMX Advanced [Read more…]
Wow, has it already been a year since the first SMX Advanced?! I thought there would be more green with the grey. Oh well, I am headed out to Seattle Monday for the Advanced Search Marketing Expo II. Last years was great! This year they’ve added two tracks. On day 1 is an “SEM Business” track and on day 2 there is a “Developers” track. These are in addition to “organic” and “paid” tracks. For some reason I Googled “search engine expert”

Last week I was contacted by a business owner who was looking for SEO expert advice and maybe some search engine marketing also. I was shocked at what she told me. She had found me on page one of the search results for her query and for some reason she skipped over me and visited other sites that were on page one (for a coveted SEO phrase). She said that all three of the “SEO firms” she contacted [Read more…]

Google Webmaster Tools , under Statistics:Subscriber Stats, now shows how many subscribers to your feed they are aware of via data from Orkut and Google Reader and Gmail.
I can’t help but assume that this data will be incorporated into an algorithm update, one that is designed to [Read more…]
There is a nifty little (actually it is huge) social media site called Twitter. It is different than Facebook or Digg and the likes, it is unique. Twitter is a site that focuses on the topic of “what are you doing right now?” [Read more…]
It was great! This year the Webmaster World PubCon Networking event was moved from the Nine Fine Irishmen Pub (which during the past events got so crowded it felt like it was built for nine customers) in the New York New York Hotel and Casino, to the Brew Pub at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino. I am very happy for this move. [Read more…]
