Going to SMX Social Media NYC

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Okay, I’m going, got my plane tix today. I know some of the things that will be presented there:

Lot’s of talk about social media marketing and linkbaiting and news social sites and hopefully good info on book marking and tagging.

I’ve been doinking with a few Social sites and the results are certainly encouraging. This aspect of Internet marketing is fun also so NYC, here I come.

I went to the SMX Advanced in Seattle this past June and I was fairly impressed. It was like an SES with less people and less commercialism from the panel. Let’s hope it stays this way!

Oh, goody, maybe I’ll get to see Lion King this time in the Big Apple.

Dreamtime Festival

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Oh fun, fun, fun! I am headed to the Dreamtime Festival in Paonia. Last year it was a great time with about 20 musical performances and a dozen or more attractions like the huge Massage hut with 15 tables or the bio-diesel workshops and solar power booth and much more. Of course my 10 year old son is excited to go also. I’ll probably perform on drums as a guest with my friends from LionVibes. Maybe next year I’ll sign up to do a Web Workshop there. I’ll call it “WebTime: More than just a dream!”

Maybe I’ll see you there: www.dreamthefuture.org.

Rocky Mountain Internet Users Group

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

Last night, I went to Boulder to check out the every other monthly meeting of the Rocky Mountain Internet Users Group. It was at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). Very cool place.

The topic was “Affilliate Marketing: Make Money Selling Other Peoples Stuff.” (more…)

New SEO Headquarters

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

Hello again Friends.

I’ve moved my Colorado SEO business headquarters. I’ll still keep networked with my much smaller home office, but for now I am working about ten miles up the highway, in Carbondale, Colorado. This move should prove to be very productive. I am excited! More time for SEO services which means I can do more hands on marketing work for my extant clients and also take on a few more cherry accounts.

This move also puts me in the same office condo as my favorite programmer and another marketing business colleague, both of whom I look forward to working closer with.

Look for big things coming from Mr. Web Guru and friends immediately. Yes!

Movin’ up in the world I suppose.

Search Engine Workshops, Advanced Strategies – Day Three

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

Last night was really great. I met up with my friend Daphne for a massage and she worked me over something fierce. Daphne Jean aka DJ, Wow, I wish I lived here I’d get one of those a week. When I got back to the hotel I found Dave with John and Robin hanging out down in the sports bar. (Unbeatable) Dave asked me for a “lesson” on the pool table. So I gave him one and won the match too. Surprise! This morning I had the omelet instead of the buffet. good decision.

Today we started the Workshops with John Alexander, who talked about Media for the Web, (more…)

Search Engine Workshops, Advanced Strategies – Day Two

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

Adam’s Mark has a pretty good breakfast buffet. Tomorrow I think I’ll try the Denver omelet.

John Alexander started out today with a session about LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) originally known as “Latent Semantic Analysis.” John explained (more…)

Search Engine Workshops, Advanced Strategies – Day One

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

I decided not to drive to Denver until the morning of the Search Engine Workshops. I set my alarm for 4 am. The problem is that I could not get to sleep until 2:30 am. So I am sleep deprived as I arrived and realized what a messed up downtown structure Denver suffers from. I was forced to take FIVE right hand turns to get to the Adams Mark (maybe that should be Adams unMarked). I’ve heard of “two wrongs don’t make a right but three lefts do.” But what the heck is five rights? Confusion and sloppy metropolitan engineering. Anyway, I made it and strolled into the workshops about a half hour after they started. (more…)
