2009 Webmaster World Conference and PubCon

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

WMW and PubCon in November of 2009 where two of the best Brett Tabke events I’ve been to in Six years going to Vegas. The conference was well organized, the topics were good and timely and someone certainly seemed impressed with Twitter as there were several interesting sessions just focused on tweeting for business. I picked up a couple gems which is all I really ask for when I go to a conference. I’d recommend going again next year if anything like this year. Even the funky Convention Center food tasted better this year!

The networking at PubCon 2009 was awesome and it is great to get to see so many industry associates at the same place and time. Now there are some of my friends that I only see once a year in Vegas. Great job this year Brett, keep up the excellence.

Review Purpose Inc ThinkTank 2009

Friday, September 25th, 2009

It was great. Even brilliant. I hope I get an invite next year also. Meeting people like Shoemoney, Dennis Yu, Neal Patel, Brent Csutoras, Andy Liu, Chris Winfield, Dan Martell and many other bright stars and just hanging with them in the spirit of sharing and comparing (and surfing) was excellent. A real breather from the conferences (more…)

2008 Webmaster World EXPO PubCon Review

Friday, November 21st, 2008

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I do enjoy getting back for visits! This is my fifth year going home for the purpose of attending the Webmaster World event. The last four years, I went to the Conference and they have always been good but what I brought home last year was a little shy of what I needed to justify the investment. I’ve been practicing SEO for 9 years now and I find that what is being taught as “advanced” at Webmaster World, Search Engine Strategies (SES) and at the Search Marketing Expo (SMX), is things that I’ve been doing for 5+ years already. Don’t get me wrong, all three are excellent conferences, top-notch and world class, in fact, but more for the marketers who are newer at SEO and SEM. (more…)

Day1 SMX Advanced 2008 Review

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Dateline: June 9, 2008 Seattle, Washington.

This year I returned, as I said I would in last years review, to the SMX Advanced Conference in Seattle.

Getting to Denver was a nightmare. I missed my flight (not by my tardiness) but South West Air helped me catch the next one.

I got into Seattle about 7:30 pm. Rented a Hummer for $31/day and drove to my hotel. OI missed the MSN reception party by 15 minutes so I went back to room and did some work… till 2 am (stupid me!).

These are the sessions I attended:

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

For some reason I Googled “search engine expert”

I had thought that it looked impressive to be on the top of search for the phrase “search engine expert.” But when I Googled the phrase, I was somewhat surprised. I found (more…)

PubCon Review 2007

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

It was great! This year the Webmaster World PubCon Networking event was moved from the Nine Fine Irishmen Pub (which during the past events got so crowded it felt like it was built for nine customers) in the New York New York Hotel and Casino, to the Brew Pub at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino. I am very happy for this move. (more…)

2007 Webmaster World Conference Review

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Wow! This years Webmaster World Conference was the best of the four years I’ve attended. Although the majority of the sessions rehash what I already know or have previously learned, there was certainly new and timely nuggets to be found throughout the conference sessions. The networking was as good as ever. The food was, well, you know, Convention Centerish (SMX decked us out with stylish and fresh buffet lunches, yummie! and classy too). There were great parties and special off site events this year too.

Tuesday and Thursday each had five tracks equaling 25 sessions each day and Wednesday had 15 sessions. since I could only go to 13 sessions physically, these are the ones I went to: (more…)

Tune in for part 2. Come back here and leave a comment after the show.

Congratulations to Cindy and Brooke and Todd and Crew and all the presenters!

Video is Very Cool

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Wow, I just did my first video and served it up to You Tube, as well as to Yahoo and Google Videos. All of these uploads are free. I prefer the Google service to the You Tube as the viewing area and quality of the video are superior at Google. I will post a link to both so you can see and compare the quality of each for yourself. (more…)

About the RankQuest Toolbar

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

The SEO Toolbar that RankQuest developed is awesome. It has a whole slew of nifty applications all bundled into a nice neat package. Before I had to use several different pieces of software, some that I purchased to do my daily SEO Expert analysis thingys but now I can tackle a few of those dozens of important tasks from one place, my browser.
